Google API Services and User Data

Virus Watcher's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Accessed

• Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager): We collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, device type, browser type, approximate location (country/region level), and interaction events. No personally identifiable information is linked to analytics data.
• Google Play Services (Android app): We interact with Google Play Services on Android devices to facilitate app installation, updates, crash reporting, and app performance monitoring. This includes device identifiers provided by Google Play to verify app licensing and deliver push notifications.
• Google Sign-In (if applicable): If you choose to sign in using your Google account, we receive your Google account email address, name, and profile photo solely to create and authenticate your Virus Watcher account.

Data Usage

• Analytics data is used exclusively to understand how users interact with the application, identify bugs, improve features, and optimize performance. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising or to create user profiles for sale to third parties.
• Google Play device identifiers are used solely for app delivery, licensing verification, and delivering disease outbreak push notifications you have opted into.
• Google account data (email, name) obtained via Google Sign-In is used only to create and maintain your Virus Watcher account and is not used for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

Data Sharing

• Google user data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
• Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (no individual identification possible) may be reviewed internally by the Virus Watcher team to improve the service.
• We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as required to operate the service (e.g., cloud hosting infrastructure) under strict data processing agreements, or as required by law.
• Google user data will not be used to serve ads, including retargeting, personalized advertising, or interest-based advertising.

Data Storage and Protection

• All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
• Data is stored on secured cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorized personnel only.
• Google Analytics data is stored and processed by Google in accordance with Google's own privacy and security practices. We do not export or store raw Google Analytics data on our own servers.
• Google account credentials are never stored by Virus Watcher. Authentication is handled entirely by Google's OAuth infrastructure.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's servers per our account configuration.
• Google account data (email, name) associated with your Virus Watcher account is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, this data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
• To request deletion of your data, including any Google user data we hold, visit viruswatcher.com/delete-account or email [email protected] with the subject line DELETE MY DATA. We will process your request within 30 days.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption, secure data storage, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. You can request deletion of your account and personal information at any time.

Your Rights

• You can request access to, correction, or deletion of your personal data.
• You can opt out of promotional communications at any time.
